Inspired content: Korean Drama, ‘Big Mouse’

This model is designed to fit into proscenium theater. I created this laboratory set inspired by a Korean drama named ‘Big Mouse’. The story is that a director of a rich hospital and presidents of a big company do biological experiments for their benefit. The biological experiments are very dangerous for the human body, so they visit a prison in the name of volunteer work. And they extract the prisoners’ blood, trick them into taking vitamins and drug them. And prisoners whose health is deteriorated by the drug are transferred to their secret hospital for experiments. They are exposed to radiation and eventually die of leukemia. Inspired by this story, it enabled me to design this laboratory set with interest- ing perspectives. So the story of this set is that the space looks like just an ordinary laboratory, but by revealing the space beyond the white wall, the mood of the set is changed. The scientist experiments with people for some reason, maybe for his benefit. And people are exposed to dangerous materials. So people are dead, and the patients keep changing. After I made this physical model, I explored this set with lighting.
